HEALTH & SAFETY

Safety First

While BMX racing is an exciting and fast-paced sport, occasional accidents can happen. That’s why safety is a shared responsibility — for riders, parents, coaches, and club officials alike.

Together, we must do everything reasonably possible to reduce or eliminate unnecessary risks for everyone involved.

Rider Safety & Risk Awareness

At Christchurch City BMX Club, rider safety is our top priority.

BMX racing is a thrilling sport, but like any action sport, it carries some risk. While accidents are rare, it’s essential that riders, parents, and club officials work together to minimise risk wherever possible.

We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved. That means taking reasonable steps to manage risk — through education, proper equipment, course maintenance, and shared responsibility.

We encourage all members to take a few moments to read the safety guidelines and risk management documents. Understanding the risks and how we address them helps keep our BMX community safe, confident, and ready to ride.
